The main aim of the paper is to evaluate the importance of determinants and key elements of strategic development attributed to small and medium enterprises primarily oriented to e-commerce for their further long-term strategic development in e-commerce. A research survey evaluating the importance of determinants is carried out using the method of personal questioning in the form of a questionnaire survey with managers or owners of businesses primarily oriented to e-commerce. Selected methods of statistical induction and descriptive statistics were used for verification of research hypotheses. All identified determinants should be considered equally important in the process of strategic e-commerce management. However, the research has shown that businesses primarily focused on e-commerce (irrespective of their size) attribute different importance to individual determinants in the strategic management process. The research results show that e-commerce primarily underestimate the following determinants of strategic e-business development: mission and vision, strategic situational analysis, strategic control, corporate culture, personnel management and strategy, financial management and strategy, corporate culture, ability work with legislation.
