Summary:
Many NFI are being transformed to continuous (with respect to time) monitoring systems whereas the need for more frequent updates of NFI estimates is among the main argument of this development. The estimates for a particular time period shorter than the whole length of the NFI cycle are limited to only a fraction of the overall sample size. Unless new and challenging methods are used reduction of accuracy of estimates is among the immediate consequences.
