Summary:
The diploma thesis will be elaborated within a frame of HORIZON 2020 project "Holistic Management of Emerging Forest Pests and Diseases (HOMED)". The student will collaborate with other European partners devoted to this research activity of the project. The goal of this study will be to prove the possible linkage between existing sampling network focused on pollen monitoring and landscape scale monitoring of pathogens of forest trees. The lab-work will start with extraction of DNA from existing library of slides with air-samples. Later, target pathogens will be detected by qPCR. Recorded pathogens will be also observed during field surveys within the area adjacent to the monitoring site and if found, confirmed by classical phytopathological methods.
