Summary:
Birds are important components of forest ecosystems. Good knowledge of bird communities in European forests enable to applying of bird species as bio-indicators of forest habitat quality. The topic of thesis will be field quantitative research of forest bird community and assessment of birds as bio-indicators of forest habitat quality. Method of bird field census will be based on ornithological transect or nest territories mapping. Qualitative characteristics of forest habitats will be fragmentation rate, heterogeneity and edge effects.
