Title of the thesis:Branch environment of solar energy production in the Czech Republic and Germany
Summary:The diploma thesis focuses on identifying of external factors influencing the environment of solar energy production in the Czech Republic and Germany. Based on comparison between both countries, political, economic, social, technological and ecological conditions of the branch are analyzed. Then the possible predictions of industry development are discussed. Through the Grove's six forces model, the thesis goes into the industry environment and then the situation analysis is carried out. An integral part of the thesis is a case study, where imaginary solar plant is established. There the current conditions and process of establishment is described, as well as calculation necessary for finding out if solar plant building still pays off. Based on all findings and information, the recommendations are set and discussed. At the first sight, both countries are facing the same problem with the solar energy production, which reached the unsustainable level. The initial favorable subsidies caused an enormous raise of new established solar plants, which have now a negative impact on electricity prices of households. Therefore, both countries started with measures leading to solar energy production reducing. While Germany tries at all costs to keep its image of solar great power, the Czech Republic deals more with strange machinations, which until now don't lead to an effective solution.
Key words:solar energy production, renewables sources, Grove's model, branch environment, external analysis
