Aim of the course and learning outcomes:
The course is dealing with programming and project management in the public sector with special focus on regional and structural policy. It brings an analysis of the importance, principles and instruments of the policy, with emphasis on the instruments of the EU Regional and Structural Policy. Students are introduced to essential knowledge and techniques in the field of strategic programming, planning and project management of public projects having a link to regional development programs.

1.Introduction into regional development, definition of regions in the Czech Republic and Europe (allowance 2/2)
Regional development stakeholders - public administration and its tools to support the regiona l development (strategies and programs) (allowance 2/0)
3.EU Regional policy and European Policy of Economic and Social Cohesion - development, objectives, principles and forms of support (allowance 3/4)
Programs of European Policy of Economic and Social Cohesion in the Czech Republic - structure and form of the main documents, implementation. (allowance 3/4)
Programs and Projects - principles of preparation and implementation of development projects - (allowance 4/6)
European Regional Development Fund (ERDF)
European Social Fund (ESF)

Assessment methods:
For credit a student must successfully complete three e-learning courses (including their final tests, minimum 60%):
"Minimum of regional and structural policy" -- until 4th week
"Structural funds and projects for 2007-13" - until 8th week
"Project Management and Administration " - until 11th week

And also passed the written final test (min. 60%)

You have to receive minimum 240 points from maximum 400 to receive credit. Credit is compulsory for final exam participation.

Final written exam: combination of tests (30%) and open (70%) questions. Minimum: 50 points, max. 100 points.
