Aim of the course and learning outcomes:
The purpose of the subject is to give students basic knowledge in the field of Demography and its use in economic decision-making, to clarify basic sources of information, flow and procedures of data evaluation in population situation and processes.

Methodological apparatus of present demography: importance of demographic population structure for demography, economy and social sciences

Fundamentals of biometrical models and their theoretical and practical meaning

2.Demographic analysis (allowance 10/12)

Demographic statics (categories, societies, structure and location of population status)

Demographic dynamics (population and vital statistics, migration)

Synthetic indices of population reproduction

Demographic forecast (allowance 8/8)

Typology of population forecasts

Assessment methods:
Fulfilment of conditions for credit (obligatory attendance in seminars, project submission and its presentation in seminar group). Written and oral exam. For participation in oral exam, written exam must be fulfilled at least 60%. Total grade results from both parts of the exams.
