Aim of the course and learning outcomes:
The aim of the course is to give the listener the necessary knowledge to solve problems of finishes furniture and wood-based products , in terms of choice of materials , processes , methods of application , economic, environmental and quality aspects.
 
Course content:
1.
History of surfaces finished materials, classical finished surfaces, finished surfaced using for finishing and restoring historical furniture and furniture from the first half of the last century (allowance 2/4)
 
a.
Historical finished surfaces by shellac, amber varnish and gilding
b.Clasical finished surfaces, ligui polishing, graining, patina coating

2.
Influences of particular components and factor with the impact on finished surfaces quality (allowance 2/4)
3.Contemporary finished surfaces by coating materials physical drying, chemical curing and UV radiation curing (allowance 6/10)
 
a.
Physical drying coating materials, formulation coated films, ranking of coated films, paints, nitrocellulose, water borne, current oils, wax and BIO lacquers and paints
b.
Chemical curing coating materials, polyurethane, acrylates, alkyds, acid-catalyzed, and epoxies lacquers and paints, chemical reactions leading to formulation of coating films
c.
Coating materials curing by UV and EBC radiation, polymerization

4.
Special types of coating materials, powder coating materials (allowance 1/2)
5.
Ways of coating materials applications, coating technologies, coating equipments, rolling, curtain-coated machines, spraying, dipping, coating in barrels, vacuum coating, (allowance 2/4)
6.Ecology, economy of surface finishing and finished surfaces (allowance 1/2)

Assessment methods:
The subject is finished by passing the oral exam,which consists of two questions . One question in the field of materials for surface treatment of wooden furniture and the second issue of the Oblates of finishing technology of wood furniture. Oral examination to demonstrate good orientation and knowledge in the field of wooden furniture finishing. To end the successful completion of the course is the need to complete seven labs submit reports of exercise and then take an oral examination ,
