Aims of the course:
The main target of subject Social-political geography in English is to give basic knowledge in the fields of historical geography, spatial science, time geography, cultural geography, behavioural geography, social geography and political geography. Students will be able to use basic scientific methods for creating new analysis, synthesis and knowledge.

1.Cultural geographies and spatial science (allowance 14/7)
 
a.History of geography, historical geography
b.Spatial science, time geography
c.Cultural turn -- perception, imagination, mental maps, humanistic and behavioural geography
d.Ethnicity, religions
e.Writings and languages
f.Social geography (gender, queer), networking

2.Selected issues of political geography (allowance 14/7)
 
a.Borders, nationality, geopolitics
b.Conflicts, separatism
c.International organization and cooperation
d.Uneven development, diffusion of innovations
e.Current problems of the world
f.Development versus development, glocalisation -- LETS

-Ability to identify topics suitable for qualitative research.
-Ability to use geopolitical concepts.

Assessment methods:
A credit obtained on continuous preparation at seminars (readings and team discussions). Students have to obtain 50,1 % and more points of written test; 50,1 % and more points of written examination and oral examination.
