Aims of the course:
The subject focuses on extension of theoretical knowledge connected with various existing concepts of strategic management process, and differentiation of its particular components. Main existing concepts are discussed regarding the suitable conditions of their application, and their theoretical bases. Attention is paid to identification of key drivers of future development of general and industry environments as main influences on the best corresponding model applicable in particular conditions.

b.SM process concepts, influence of environment
c.Strategy formulation process, formulation of business mission

2.Processing and interpretation of environment analysis results (allowance 0/0)
a.Deepening the knowledge of techniques for processing results of environment analysis building on basic knowledge of environment analysis methods -- assessment matrices like External factor evaluation, competitive profile, etc.

3.Business strategies (allowance 0/0)
a.Approaches to classification
b.Generic types of business strategies and contexts of their applicability
c.Role of creativity, "Blue ocean" approach

4.Strategy formulation and selection (allowance 0/0)
a.Methods and helping tools for strategy formulation -- portfolio analysis approaches, SPACE and SWOT matrices
b.Methods of strategy selection -- verbal evaluation, helping questions, Quantitative strategic planning matrix
c.Issues of applicability of these methods

a.Aspects of Balanced Scorecard utilization
