Aims of the course:
The goal of the subject is to give students knowledge of principles and specific mechanisms in banking management. The course is divided in two main parts. The first part is focused on banking regulation, its instruments and impact of selected instruments on banking industry. The second part deals with evaluating of bankign performance, controlling in bank management, asset and liability management and management of selected banking risks.

1.Main goals of banking enterprise. Evaluation of banking performance. (allowance 4/6)
2.Banking regulation and supervision, goals, instruments and their impact on banking industry (allowance 4/0)
3.Planning of banking performance. (allowance 2/0)
a.system of strategic planning and control
b.budgets and budgeting process

4.Bank controlling (allowance 12/4)
a.building of controlling system in the bank
b.costs and revenues in the accounts of the bank
c.methodological approaches of controlling in the evaluation banking performance
d.intrabank allocation of non-interest expenses and income
e.transfer and pricing intrabank sources
f.internal audit in the banking firm

5.Banking risk management (allowance 4/4) risk management
b.interest rate risk management
c.liquidity risk management

6.Costumer relationship management (allowance 2/0)

-Ability to analyze the financial situation of the bank and to formulate conclusions and recommendations

Assessment methods:
Processing and presentation of case studies that evaluate the financial performance of a specific bank in the range of 6-8 pages. A case study is a prerequisite for the exam. The exam has a written part and a oral part. Written part in the range of 60 min.contains test questions, evaluating of the correctness of statements with justification and numerical examples (total 28 questions). The oral part is the interpretation given problem.
For evaluation of case study and exam is determined point scale with minimum and maximum points. The sum of points from a case study and exam form the final result.
