Aims of the course:
To provide students with theoretical knowledge from the field of management, to develop their skills to use modern methods of management decision-making in various areas of business management (including strategic management, human resource management, and Time management).
Course contents:
1.Business Management (allowance 28/28)
a.Development stages of management, theory and practice of management
b.Structure of management - continuous processes, and stages of management
c.Formulation, implementation, and changes of business strategies, types of strategies
d.Porter's model of industry analysis, PEST, SWOT analysis
e.Requirements on managerial work, roles of managers
f.Decision-making methods in business management
g.Planning and control processes in business management
h.Standardization of labour processes
i.Business culture within an organisation, organizing in management
j.Human resources management, legal aspects of recruiting and employee selection
k.Time management
l.Managing crises

Assessment methods:
Credit is awarded to students for fulfillment of assigned project - analysis of partial case studies and elaboration of SWOT analysis of a particular business entity. The exam is in written form, consists of the issues discussed in the lectures and selected topics from recommended literature.
