Aim of the course and learning outcomes:
To obtain a comprehensive view of the problems focused on landscape management. Students are introduced to basic landscaping factors and all landscape components (water, soil, climate, biota). In addition, the course focuses on landscape typologies and methods of land use in the historical context. The course is also focused in detail on the tools of landscape protection in the EU and the Czech Republic, an explanation of the financial value of ecosystem service functions of the landscape, and an overview of financial instruments in landscape management.

Assessment methods:
Course is completed by credit and examination. Credit reflects attendance at excercises and the preparation and successful defense of seminar work. Seminar work was made on specified topics in the field of landscape management and submission of the required date. Defense of seminar paper is based on a PowerPoint presentation and subsequent discussion. The test takes place in writing (test questions) from the contents of the lectured topics.
