Aims of the course:
Teaching consists of lectures and practical exercises. Students will learn the basic forestry documents and basic tree species typical of the landscape of the Czech Republic in the exercises.
Course contents:
1.Historical development of the environment, the importance of forests, development of human society, economic and social ties, the technical revolution, manufacturing resources, human interaction and forest, the strategic concept of the company, access to forests, land development (allowance 0/0)
2.Forests biota, the existence of primary production, food chains, the importance of timber production, the function of forest ecosystems in natural ingredients and environmental links to human activities and environment (allowance 0/0)
3.Society relations and forest - development strategies, concepts, approaches. Forests of the World, European Community, national terms, concepts and state forests. Regional issues, links environmental, social and economic (allowance 0/0)
4.Bioproduction function of forests, forests as a productive resource, and mediated primary production, ecosystem and economic utilization of biomass. Alternative utilization, links to environmental quality and its components. Influence of forests on makroklima, mesoclimate microclimate and landscape environment (allowance 0/0)
5.Ecological-stabilization function of forests in a landscape. Ecological stability of natural and anthropogenic systems, links to general and special protection of nature. Forests NP, PLA, and the small protected areas in relation to land use. The conservation Natura, links and contexts (allowance 0/0)
6.Edaphic (soil forming) function of forests. Properties of soils, erosion risk and protection. Ties of forest and agricultural land, the anthropogenic degradation of soils, landscape and forest reclamation and revitalization (allowance 0/0)
7.Hydrological functions of forests. Hydrological regime of forests and landscape. Forest evapotranspiration, runoff conditions modifications. Water regime of soils, headwater areas, rivers, water resources, care and protection (allowance 0/0)
8.Recreational and health-hygiene functions of forests. Forests as a recreational environment, recreation potential and effects. Links to the landscape environment and human settlements. Environmental health - the effects of climate in forests, filtration, insulation, protection, and more.
Health aspects of the forest environment, physiological and psychological. Therapeutic effects. Utilization of regional bonds

9.Forests of the CR - reports, data categorization, differentiation. Administrative and financial circumstances. State forest management, linkages to environmental conservation. Multifunctional use of forests as regional development, linked to agricultural and industrial and urban landscape (allowance 0/0)
10.Legislation, landscaping and forestry programs in the state and regional development. EU programs, state, provincial, regional, local. Urban planning, landscaping, reclamation and restoration, landscape, urban and special-purpose forest vegetation. Regional and local organizations and management. Forests and entrepreneurship (allowance 0/0)

Assessment methods:
Course is completed by a credit and an exam. Credit reflects attendance at exercises and gained percentage in the test from information made available to students in exercises. The exam may be taken after credit obtaining. The exam takes place in writing (test questions) from the contents of the lectured topics.
