Aim of the course and learning outcomes:
The aim of the course is to introduce students to basic characteristics of microorganisms (morphology, cytology, metabolism), their ecologies and importance for life cycles in the nature, for plants growing, animal husbandry and processing of plant and animal products.

a.Chemical composition of microorganisms, morphology, cytology, genetics of microorganisms
Growth and reproduction ways of microorganisms.
Metabolism of microorganisms (catabolic and anabolic processes)

3.Ecology of microorganisms (allowance 0/0)
 
a.Impact of abiotic factors and their use in protection against undesirable microorganisms
Inter-relationships among microorganisms, plants and animals, microbial detoxication of extraneous substances in the environment.

Microbiology of the basic components of the environment (water, air, soil) (allowance 0/0)
5.The role of microorganisms for the cycle of carbon, nitrogen, phosphorus and sulphur in the nature with a special focus on agrosystems. (allowance 0/0)

Assessment methods:
Course credit: (requirements -- equivalent presence in seminars, prepared protocol from each seminar, final seminary credit test -- minimum at least 60% corrects answers). Preparation of the final semester project. Credit is compulsory for final exam participation.
Examination: writing preparation and oral exam (duration of 30 minutes in total) consist of 4 questions from separate thematic fields. Precondition for passing the subject - to answer each of the questions at least with mark "E".
