Aim of the course and learning outcomes:
Learn the knowledge about basic processes and interactions inside the microbial communities usable for biological treatment of waste. In addition students gain knowledge about selected biotechnology of waste, microbial communications, and the changes in life strategies of microorganisms.
 
Course content:

Characteristics of wastes with regard to biological degradability (allowance 2/1)

Microflora of wastes with herbal and animal origin

Prognoses of use biodegradable wastes

Principles of microbial transformation and degradation of various types of waste (allowance 1/1)

Efficiency of use microorganisms BRO

Aerobic treatment of wastes (allowance 2/2)

Composting, continuation of the process according on the technique of composting and of wastes composition

Assessment methods:
Course credit: (requirements -- presence in seminar, prepared protocols from seminar, final seminary credit test -- minimum at least 60% corrects answers). Preparation of the final semester project. Credit is compulsory for final exam participation.
Examination: writing preparation and oral exam (duration of 30 minutes in total) consist of 4 questions from separate thematic fields. Precondition for passing the subject - to answer each of the questions at least with mark "E".
