Aim of the course and learning outcomes:
Understanding the basics of production processes of economically important crops and ways to influence them by growing technology. Learning the nature of the yield formation physiology of agricultural crop species and the production of plants in terms of their genetic and breeding potential. Affecting the yield formation by agro-ecological conditions. Possibilities of controlled influencing of the volume and quality of plant products.

Primary production processes and environmental factors (allowance 1/1)

Global biomass production, GPP, NPP
b.
Theory of field crops yield formation, analysis of growing
c.
Photosynthesis (Pn), factors impacting the speed of the photosynthesis (CO2 concentration, light, nutrition, water, temperature)
d.Lambert-Beer extinction law, radiation effectiveness, calculation of dry mass production, harvest index, dynamics of yield formation elements

History, trends, and variability of the field crops yields (allowance 1/0)

Agro-climatic conditions and variability of yields in CR

Stress factors and the reactions of plants (allowance 1/0)

Assessment methods:
The requirements for passing the course are attendance in the seminar and lecture, elaboration of project and its defence, a successful completion of the final written test and oral exam. The test will be composed of questions on the topics covered in the lecture and seminar and the students will have 30 minutes to complete the test - the minimal requirement for passing is achieving 80% of the total points attainable in test and successful completion of three questions of the oral exam.
