Aim of the course and learning outcomes:
Clarify the issues students care about soil fertility in terms of ecological function in the landscape and sustainable agriculture. To teach them the ways of soil reclamation and rehabilitation of damaged natural and anthropogenic, and to restore their ecological and production functions.
 
Course content:

The issue of land reclamation and cultivation (allowance 2/4)
2.Reclamation and cultivation of heavy soils (allowance 2/2)
3.
Reclamation and cultivation of light soils (allowance 2/2)
4.
Cultivation and reclamation of chemically deficient soils (allowance 2/2)
5.
Reclamation of meadows and pastures (allowance 2/0)
6.
Temporarily idle land reclamation and restoration of areas damaged by erosion and improper drainage (allowance 2/6)
7.
Reclamation of surface mined areas, sand pits and quarries (allowance 2/2)

Assessment methods:
Written, oral exam respectively. Written exam with 4 questions, the requirement is 60 % correct answers. Oral exam: in 30 -- 40 minutes requires at least 60 % correct answers.
