Aims of the course:
Graduate gets knowledge in the area of information technologies with the aim on the basis of computer equipment, work with special software commonly used in the waste management. Student also gains experience in hardware and software equipment, practical applications and ways of usage of these technologies. Practical exercises provide knowledge of how to identify waste disposal in local, regional or national scale from the information systems. Graduates gain basic experience about environmental information and their presentation in text (document), numbers (monitoring and measurement outcomes), tables (surveys) or graphics (maps and diagrams). Course provides basic knowledge of contemporary business, regional and international information systems and introduces students into main system elements of administrative evidence in waste management.

1.Introduction to Information Systems - IS, design, ergonomics and computer history, characteristics of IS history and present (allowance 4/3)
 
a.Definition of basic concepts in information systems IS
b.Environmental information EI
c.Characteristics of technically oriented subjects
d.The development and history of IS and EI and their design

2.IS in the environment and related information systems and data standardization in IS Waste Management, basic requirements in Waste Management and responsibilities for collection and transportation of waste, IS of accidents and integrated rescue system in Czech Republic. (allowance 4/4)

-Student is competent to analyze the stored data and expert processing outputs
-Student knows the legal standards of waste management
-Student learns the skills associated with the use and processing of information
-Student will be able to solve the problems of creating database of the waste evidence
-Students will learn about the ways to waste evidence in relation to their production and categorization

Assessment methods:
Credit is given upon a PowerPoint presentation and its defense and the case studies on topics in the thematic sections. The examination consists of written and oral exam. The oral exam includes a written defense work and selected areas of the selected topics. Upon successful completion of the test is the sign entered into the index / UIS. Final grade of the test consists of the signs of written and oral in the ratio 60:40.
