Aim of the course and learning outcomes:
Obtain knowledges and skills in woody plant protection.
Course content:
1.Concept of stress - Levitt, Selye, avoidance, tolerance, eu/dis-stress, stress responses, disease, injury, Manion concept forest decline, dieback, disposition. Forest condition monitoring - ICP Forests - Forest Focus. Integrated pest management. (allowance 2/0)
Monitoring of pests and stressors, control, prognosis, legislature. (allowance 2/0)
Cambioxylofagous of conifers - bionomy, ecology, importance. (allowance 2/6)
Cambioxylofagous of broad-leaved trees - bionomy, ecology, importance. (allowance 2/3)
Insect defoliators and others insect pests - bionomy, ecology, importance. (allowance 2/3)
Fungi diseases I. - patogens, decline-dieback, phytosanitary (definitions, legislature...) (allowance 2/3)
Fungi diseases II. - broad-leaved trees. (allowance 2/3)
Fungi diseases III. - conifers. (allowance 2/6)
Others biotic agents - protection. Biocides - legislature, using. Game and rodents damage - protection, legislature. (allowance 2/3)
