Aims of the course:
The aim of this course is to acquaint students with the basic design of furniture and home accessories. Furniture design not only represent the aesthetic side of things but also other important aspects that are placed on its function, ergonomics, the selected material, technology, etc. Design of furniture must always be in balance between form, function and real production of the piece.
 
Course contents:
1.furniture Design (allowance 8/0)
 
a.Requirements and way of working
b.The basic assumption of the designer - the designer
c.Basic concepts in design - composition, symmetry, proportions, dynamic and static axis

2.Understand the basic criteria of the system (allowance 20/0)
 
a.Understanding the target group
b.ergonomics
c.aesthetics
d.Research and experiment
e.Quality, functionality and durability
f.System production process
g.Individualization in the production process
h.Simple installation
i.move table row in the direction of economic aspect, recyklovanost and disposal of products
j.Copyright protection
k.Acceptance and implementation experience

Assessment methods:
Completion of the course credit, the cast and defended the terminal papers processed in the semester in the form of a printed book produced award.
Minimum participation in the exercise is 80%. The exam is oral and has three parts ( final work 40%, continuous assessment 10%, Oral exam 50%)
