Aim of the course and learning outcomes:
The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the possibilities of project management with emphasis on the utilization in wood processing and production. The aim of the course is to provide theoretical knowledge and learning skills leading to practical application of the elaboration of projects.
 
Course content:
1.
The content and the possibility of project management. Definitions, categories and principles of the project. Innovative project schedules. Design practices. (allowance 3/6)
2.Pre-investment phase of the project: situation and composition of the project. (allowance 2/4)
3.
The investment phase of the project: layout and implementation of the project. (allowance 2/4)
4.
Operation and evaluation phase of the project. (allowance 1/2)
5.
Methods of prediction, time funds and time consumption standards of the project. (allowance 1/2)
6.
Project capacity calculations (allowance 2/4)
7.
Efficiency of project investment (allowance 1/2)
8.
Professional organizations, certification systems and software support (allowance 1/2)

Assessment methods:
Credit and exam

Terms of credit: participation in seminars; the preparation, presentation and defense of the essay on an assigned topic processing project;
Final exam test of the theory of project management. Student must demonstrate the knowledge necessary to handle the project according to the principles of project management.

Requirements for passing the subject:

- 90% seminar participation
- evaluation activities at seminars
- submission of a seminar work, minimum 15 pages
- presentation of a seminar work, minimum 20 minutes
- seminar work defence, in front of the class, required defence without any serious comments of the teacher
- passing of the final test, minimum 80% points
