Aim of the course and learning outcomes:
The course makes students acquainted with the fundamentals of regional economics, spatial arrangement of economics, its components and their impact on the regional growth. Students will gain a knowledge about the localization models of companies as well as models of spatial distribution of other economic subjects. The course also deals with the regional aspects of production factors markets, urban economics and overall theoretical background of regional development. Theoretical knowledge are supported by the application tasks and practical information by the strategic and financial management of public administration.

Assessment methods:
Course is finished by written exam. To be allowed to take a part at the exam, students have to obtain a credit. The conditions for getting credit are defined in the first or second week of the term. Usually the elaboration, submission in given deadline and presentation of the seminar thesis is required, as well as the presentaion of the topic related to one of the problem that is part of the lectures. The topic has to be a approved by the lecturer. After the deadline it is not allowed to re-do the seminar thesis.
The assessment of the course is given by the sum of the points obtained from seminar thesis and final exam. Usually the maximum number of points is 20 for the seminar thesis and 80 for the exam. Actual point distribution is defined during at the first lecture. Minimal number of point requested for passing the subject is 65. There is no minimal point limit for each part of the exam.
The final exam is written and consists out of three parts: theoretical questions, multiple choice and calculations. The results of the calculations have to be explained otherwise they are not regarded to be fulfilled. An extraordinary performace of the student on the lectures could be taken into consideration for the final evaluation.
Every student has to take a part at one of the term marked as "regular". Not meeting of this condition without serious reason leads to marking of the term like "exam missed". The student could continue by the first re-sit.
The consultation form of the study will be enabled to the students who have obtained the credit. In this form of study the points based on the seminar thesis elaborated in the previous normal form of study remain in force.
