Aim of the course and learning outcomes:
In this course, students will acquire a general overview of vehicles used for movement in different terrains. They will learn about theoretical aspects, functions, construction and operational properties of ATV. The course deals with theoretical principles applied in the field of practical use and development of new ATV and will be able to decide about their selection and use in practice.
 
Course content:
1.
Classification of all terrain vehicles and their operational and ecological properties (allowance 2/2)
2.
Construction of ATV chassis (allowance 2/2)
3.Terramechanics driving power, spinning, limit load of soil surface . (allowance 2/2)
4.
Power balance of ATVs, losses and pulling efficiency (allowance 2/2)
5.
Rolling a slipping efficiency (allowance 2/2)
6.
Vehicle centre of gravity, weight distribution (allowance 2/2)
7.
Power balance of ATV in terrain (allowance 2/2)
8.
Stability of ATV on slopes. Position of gravity centre, distribution of weights (allowance 2/2)
 
a.
Climbing ability of ATVs.
b.Static and dynamic stability (longitudinal, transversal and general).

Pulling and braking properties of ATVs. (allowance 2/2)
10.
Pulling characteristics, methods of measuring and evaluation of obtained values (allowance 2/2)

Computing and experimental pulling characteristics.

11.Standard and shortened pulling tests on a drum dynamomemter (allowance 2/2)
12.Caterpillar chassis of ATVs (allowance 2/2)
13.
Aggregation and methods of evaluation of output parameters (allowance 2/2)
14.Forces in the three-point hitch (allowance 2/2)
