Aims of the course:
The aim is to give the students basic information about the spatial data, geographic information systems (GIS) and the most functional and analytical operations used in GIS. Learn them the most important practical tasks in the application of GIS related to the waste management, distribution of emissions in the country, potential biomass, etc.

Learning outcomes and competences:
Generic competences:

Specific competences:
 
-Abbility to solve the problems of storing and processing the information about the objects and generating the electronic maps
-Student can model different spatial objects into vector and raster representation
-Student is competent to analyze stored data and expert processing outputs
-Student will learn about the basic principle of GIS - Geographic Information Systems
-The competence to compile of primar information about presence of biowaste in area

Assessment methods:
The course will succesfully ended on the basis of the examination in the topics of the course that were discussed during the semester. The credit will be given on the minimal attendance at the course seminars including at least 75 %.
The course is ended on the basis of credit and then the exam which has two parts. The first part is the written test. Then the discuss with the examiner follows about specific topics, which were discussed during the semester.
