Aims of the course:
The course Physics of metals is focused on basic knowledge of solid state physics. The primary task is to orient students to master the physical models that explain the properties of pure metals. The secondary task is to manage the properties of model alloys by studying their internal structure with the current explanation of the subtext of mechanical and physical laboratory verification. Effect of metal structure (temperature, composition, heat treatment, etc.) are presented using the methods of thermodynamics of solids forms the third and most comprehensive chapter. The fourth part of the problems of physics of metals in the form and orientation of the band theory, electron structure of metals and alloys and magnetic bases, transport phenomena in metals and methods of detection of various parameters of metals and their electronic structure.
