Aims of the course:
The aim of the subject is theoretical and practical knowledge of modern wood copmposite materials for building structures. Students gain knowledges about the production technology and about use of this materials depending on phyzical and mechanical properties
Course contents:
1.Currently, special and new wood based materials (allowance 2/2)
2.Laminated solid wood materials - panels and construction (allowance 2/2)
3.Special laminated materials - Parallam, Microllam, Intrallam, Ultrallam (allowance 2/2)
4.Boards WAFERBOARDS and OSB (allowance 2/2)
5.Agglomarated materials with mineral binders. (allowance 2/2)
6.Bio based materials from the other lignocellusic raw materials (allowance 2/2)
7.Boards MFP, wood plastic composites. (allowance 2/2)
8.Boards Europly, Tetra K, Insulating materials. Fire protection materials. (allowance 2/2)

9.Boards Grenamat, ekopanel system Stramit. (allowance 2/2)
10.Diffusions boards, medium and high density boards MDF and HDF. (allowance 2/2)
11.Shaped prodicts wizhout binder, shaped prodict with binder. (allowance 2/2)
12.Plasma surface treatment of wood and wood based materials to improve of properties. (allowance 2/2)
13.Physical, machanical, thermsal and sound insulating properties of wood based materials (allowance 2/2)
14.Wood based conmposite production - technology and testing in laboratory. (allowance 2/2)

Assessment methods:
Evaluation of participation in lectures and seminars, submission of a seminar work during the semester, submission of a project /defence/ presentation.
Written test - 1 written test will be during the course. Maximum points for test is 15. Test will be written 5th of the semester. Participation on the written test is compulsory.
The course is finished with oral exam (50% of the total mark). Participation on test is compulsory.
