Aims of the course:
The aim of the education is theoretical and practical knowledge of veneers and wood copmposite materials. Knowledge of the use of the veneers and laminated wood materials in the furniture production and in the wood based buildings
 
Course contents:
1.Classification of Veneers and Wood compozite materiále. Used Raw materiáles (allowance 2/1)
2.Parameters of Veneers and Laminated weneer panels production (allowance 1/1)
3.Properties and factors of use Veneers in the final products (allowance 2/1)
4.Veneers with reproducibility textur (allowance 1/1)
5.Construction principles of Laminated veneer materiále (allowance 2/1)
6.Parameters of Plywoods, Blockboards, Veneer blockboards, Cross laminated timbers and special kombi composite materiále - aplications (allowance 4/1)
7.Technological parameters of Microllam and Parallam production and the using (allowance 4/1)
8.Production and use of laminated solid wood panels and lamells (allowance 2/1)
9.Project of veneers and wood based materials production - calculation of material usage, technological calculations (allowance 6/4)
10.Detection of physical and mechnical properties of laminated veneer compozite materiále (allowance 4/2)

-Familiarity with material flow for application in wood – constructions
-Knowledge of the wooden based materials, their properties, applications and manufacturing

-Workflow knowledge in the veneers and laminated wood based materials

Year of study: Not applicable - the subject could be chosen at anytime during the course of the programme.
Work placement: There is no compulsory work placement in the course unit.

Assessment methods:
Evaluation of participation in lectures and seminars, submission of a seminar work during the semester, submission of a project /defence/ presentation.
Written test - 1 written test will be during the course. Maximum points for test is 15. Test will be written 5th of the semester. Participation on the written test is compulsory.
The course is finished with oral exam (50% of the total mark). Participation on test is compulsory.
