Aim of the course and learning outcomes:
The aim of the education is theoretical and practical knowledge of veneers and wood based laminated construction materials. Knowledge of the use of the laminated wood composite in the wood based buildings.
Course content:
Fundamental terms, classification of Veneers, decorative, construction veneers and laminated wood basic materials (allowance 2/2)
Used Raw materiáles, gluings for laminated materials production (allowance 2/1)
Veneers production, slicer machines -- vertikal, horizontal and rotary machines (allowance 2/1)
Peeling veneers production, loading and centring gross (allowance 2/2)
Peeling veneers production, peeling machines (allowance 2/2)
Veneer reeling and storing systems (allowance 2/2)
Veneer dryers, veneers joiting and surfing (allowance 2/2)
8.Veneer sorting and patching (allowance 2/2)
Prepressing and pressing of materials (allowance 2/2)

Assessment methods:
Evaluation of participation in lectures and seminars, submission of a seminar work during the semester -- submission of a project /defence/ presentation.
Written test - 1 written test will be during the course. Maximum points for test is 15. Test will be written 5th of the semester. Participation on the written test is compulsory.
The course is finished with oral exam (50% of the total mark). Participation on test is compulsory.
