Aims of the course:

The aim of the course is to introduce the typology of upholstered furniture, designing primary structures of frames for upholstered furniture, including construction of joints and fastener elements.
Practical working drawings in CAD.

Course contents:

1.	Construction of wood chairs made of wood-based materials. (allowance 7/19)
2.	Typology of upholstered furniture. (allowance 1/1)
3.	Materials used on wooden support frames of upholstered furniture. (allowance 1/1)
4.	Basic design connection of supporting skeletons. (allowance 2/2)
5.	Mechanisms and their manufacturers for upholstered products with functions (allowance 0/0)

Assessment methods:

- The course finished by credit.
- Credit is awarded:
1) 100% attendance at seminars, with the exception of incapacity due to illness and others. Cogent reasons properly apologetic documented evidence (sick note, proof of authority, death certificate of attendance at the funeral etc.).
2) completed at a given date and order semester two written tests given problems in the classification and evaluation of A-E with the possibility of one resit for the test.
3) have been met and the deadline of submission semester programs(design drawing and parts-list) to a specified topic. The programs are specified in the respective semester at the beginning of discussing the topic. Programs that will be returned for repair or reworking after the due date must be submitted no later than by the end of the credit week.
