Aims of the course:
The purpose of this course is to provide an interesting, accessible introduction to environmental science for students from a variety of backgrounds. Combining a broad, interdisciplinary approach that both natural sciences and human dimensions of environmental issues.
Course contents:
1.The environment and sustainable development (allowance 2/2)
a.filosofy, strategy, koncept, EU a CR, sources, financial solutions

2.The history and development of environment - the human and landscape environment (allowance 2/2)
a.landscape development, strategic turning-points, development of environment components, strategic documents about landscape and environment care

3.Nature, landscape and environment of the Czech republic (allowance 2/2)
a.the state and conditions in CR, environmental limits, environment utilization in CR

4.Environment - conception - perception - typization - social perception od environment (allowance 2/2)
a.landscape environments, landscape typology, landscape functions, landscapes and regions, environmental state of regions

5.Environment - categorization, components and elements (allowance 2/2)
a.landscape diferentisation, functions of landscape components, elements of landscape formation

6.Analyses and evaluation of the environment - methods (allowance 2/2)
a.landscape potentials, limits, landscape planning, environmental analyses

7.Soil and soil environment (allowance 2/2)
a.soil determination and categorization in CR, usage of soil sources, care about soil, connection with regional development, legislation

8.Athmosphere and climate (allowance 2/2)
a.climate in CR, climate and weather factors, connection with regional development, legislation, public administration

9.Water in landscape and environment (allowance 2/2)
a.water resources and water management, usage of water resources, connection with regional development, legislation and public administration

10.Degradation and erosion of the environment (allowance 2/2)
a.degradation and devastation of environment, erosion impacts, connection with regional development, legislation and public administration

11.Biota and bioproduction in the environment (allowance 2/2)
a.primary production as a main environmental source, usage of biomas, applications in agriculture, forestry and sustainable environment

12.Landscape protection and management (allowance 2/2)
a.strategy, koncept and methods of the care on the nature and landscape, connection with regional development, legislation and public administration

13.Funds, programmes and projects of the care on the environment, nature and landscape (allowance 2/2)
a.resources and methods - EU, CR, resorts, territorial programmes and projects

14.EU operational programmes - Operational Programme Environment - aplication in CR (allowance 2/2)
a.EU and CR - strategy, koncept, international connection

Learning outcomes and competences:

Assessment methods:
Inclusion on the base of overhanded semestral work. Test exam of lectured subject matter amplified of monographed information.
