Aim of the course and learning outcomes:
The knowledge of macroscopic and microscopic wood structure (including practical identification of wood species). Overview of basic wood properties of wood species of subtropical and tropical areas with an emphasis to their practical utilization.

- practical test of wood identification -- macroscopic samples of the most important tropical woods (at least 8 of 10 samples)
- seminar work -- identification of unknown samples of tropical woods on microscopic level
