Aims of the course:
In this course, students will acquire knowledge and skills concerning testing, standardisation, and evaluation of conformity of engineering products with requirements of the Act n° 22/1997 Sb. and the quality management (pursuant provisions of ISO 9000/2000 standard and regulations concerning environmental aspects of quality management).
Course contents:
1.Technical normalisation (allowance 2/2)
a.International and regional norms and standards
b.National and company norms and standards

2.Evaluation of conformity of engineering products with technical requirements pursuant provisions of the Act22/1997 Sb. and corresponding statutory rules concerning engineering products - NV 176/2008 Sb. (allowance 8/8)
a.Certificate of conformity, conformity label
b.Authorisation authorised (notified) persons
c.Accreditation accredited persons, certification

3.Act n° 102/2001 Sb., on general safety of products, Act n° 59/1998Sb., on responsibility for damages caused by product failures and breakdowns (allowance 2/2)
4.Quality management policy (allowance 2/2)
a.Conception of company standards, TQM conception, provisions of ISO 9000 norm

5.Formation of product quality in individual stages of its life cycle (allowance 8/8)
a.Preparatory stage planning of quality, QFD method, FMEA method
b.Production stage assurance of conditions for meeting requirements concerning quality, methods of conformity testing, management of non-conformities, audits
c.Post production stage commissioning (product launch process), service and maintenance, ascertaining and evaluation of customer's satisfaction and locality

6.Measuring in systems of quality management. Price and quality (allowance 4/4)
7.Environmental quality management (allowance 2/2)
a.Principles of introduction (norm ISO 14 000)
b.EMAS programme

Learning outcomes and competences:

-Ability to consider the application of law 22/1997 coll. Technical demands on machinery

Assessment methods:
Requirements for course completion:
Compulsory participation in seminars. Student must prepare a presentation on an assigned topic. Prepared presentation will be lectured by student. Time of presentation is minimum 20 minutes. Evaluated is the content, form and recitation, each part 10 points. Minimum for the credit is 24 points.
Requirements for examination:
Presumption for sign in the exam is a final credit from this course. The exam is written. Student must demonstrate adequate knowledge of the thematic units above. The written exam includes 4 questions. Student may receive a maximum 100 points. Student must answer at least 3 questions and get a total minimum 60 points.
