Aims of the course:
The aim of the course is to teach students the principles of advanced methods of material and constructions testing and the use of normative and optional management tools. The course is also focused on the application of tools for the statistical processing of measured data and analytical assessment of the accuracy of the measuring system.
 
Course contents:
1.Technical standardization (allowance 4/4)
 
a.Technical standards used in metrology and testing
b.ČSN EN ISO 9001
c.The importance of technical standards, a practical view of the concept of quality

2.Analysis of Measurement Systems (MSA) (allowance 8/8)
 
a.Explanation of Significance of Measurement Analysis and Measurement Systems
b.Evaluation of repeatability and reproducibility of measurements, GRR methodology
c.Practical test of reliability of measuring system, statistical evaluation

3.Statistical analysis of data in the MINITAB software (allowance 8/8)
 
a.Analysis of normal distribution, hypothesis testing
b.Histograms, control charts, SPC, MSA
c.Calculation of basic statistical parameters of analyzed files, regression dependencies

4.Methods of materials and constructions testing (allowance 8/8)
 
a.Defectoscopic methods (NDT) - ultrasound, RTG, Eddy Current method, magnetic methods, capillary tests, etc.
b.Acoustic Emission
c.Destructive testing - fatigue test, tensile test, bending impact test, metallographic analysis, etc.

Assessment methods:
The credit will be awarded on the basis of min. 80% attendance at seminars, passing a credit test with min. 70% of the correct answers, and the processing and presentation of a paper on the subject of metrology.

Written and oral exam. In the written part, the student answers 4 questions, which he explains and discusses in detail. The overall assessment also takes into account the level of the paper presented in the seminar.
