Aim of the course and learning outcomes:
The goal of the course is to provide to students basic knowledge about the technical and technological procedures in the processing, recovery and disposal of waste from various industrial and municipal sector. By completing the course, students should acquire knowledge, abilities and skills that will enable student to assess the suitability of the technology used for waste disposal, or replace existing technologies with modern ones. In addition, the student should be done-understand basic balance calculations of the various technologies used for waste disposal.
 
Course content:
1.Overview of waste management legislation. (allowance 2/2)

Integrated Pollution Prevention Control (IPPC). (allowance 2/2)
3.Construction and demolition waste. (allowance 2/2)
4.
Bioenergetic technique for transformation of organic waste. (allowance 2/2)
5.
The technique for animal waste utilization. (allowance 2/2)
6.
Technique for bioenergetic transformation of organic waste. (allowance 2/2)
7.
Wastewater treatment plants. (allowance 2/2)
8.
The technique for waste utilization from mills, malt, sugar mills and breweries. (allowance 2/2)
9.
The technique for utilization of the environmentally harmful biological waste. (allowance 2/2)
10.Technology for remediation of soil and water contaminated with petroleum products. (allowance 2/2)
11.Waste incinerators. (allowance 2/2)
12.
The technique for wood waste bio-energy transformations. (allowance 2/2)
