Aims of the course:
The course goal is to get student acquainted with logistics of operational processes and their optimization in terms of quality management systems. Students will apply selected mathematical models and logistics methods on specific logistics problems. Students' outcomes comprise of orientation in logistics terminology, logistics manipulation chains and transportation systems connected to material manipulation. Thanks to gained skills the student is able to integrate knowledge, and thus, his/her competences in self-decision making and logistics operations are developed.

2.Logistics - definition, role in company management (allowance 4/4)
a.Logistics classification, objects

3.Production management logistics, supply chains (allowance 4/4)
a.Production, distribution

4.Material classification, manipulation groups distribution (allowance 2/2)
a.Manipulation units, standardization

5.Transportation and manipulation means (allowance 2/2)
6.Role of transportation system in logistic chains (allowance 2/2)
7.Criteria for transportation types distributions (allowance 2/2)
8.Logistics chains and networks (allowance 4/4)
9.Information within logistics systems (allowance 2/2)
Learning outcomes and competences:
Generic competences:
-Ability to analyse and synthesize

-Ability to solve the logistic problems and communicate with experts in given problematic
-Competence to a logistic chain analysis
-Knowledge of the broader concept of logistics and logistics approaches in other disciplines
-Skills to orientate in the terminology, problematic of logistics and solving of transport tasks

Assessment methods:
For the award of credit it is required to prepare a case study - 40% rating.
Oral examination lasts about 25 min. and consists of defense of the study
and theoretical questions.
Within the course, there are accomplished several (about 6) short tests for
about 5 minutes, which contribute to the overall rating (15%).
