Aims of the course: |
In this course, students will acquire a knowledge about combustion engines, which are the principal source of energy for mobile machines. In this course, attention is paid to theory, functions, construction and measuring of operational properties of vehicle motors. Using the acquired knowledge of combustion engines, students will be able to decide |

1. | • Combustion engines, their operational and enviromental charakteristics; • Combustion engine fuels. Combustion of carbohydrate fuels; • Working cycles of piston combustion engines; • Thermal balance of vehicle engines; • Efficiency of vehicle engines; • Supercharging of vehicle engines; • Creation and burning of fuel mixtures in ignition and diesel engines; • Exhalations in ignition and diesel engines; • Comparative parameters of vehicle engines; • Accessories of vehicle engines; • Alternative drives and future (prospective) construction of engines (allowance 0/0) |

Compulsory attendance at exercises. Hand over and defense of protocols assigned during the semester. Final written and oral examination, a total duration 50 min.Written examination, calculation of given examples. To meet the requirements min. 70 points out of 100. Overall rating, the sum of points from written and oral at least 65%. |
