Aim of the course and learning outcomes:
The course objective is to learn the fundamentals of Spanish language and then to develop them. The emphasis is put on all language skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing). Target language knowledge level corresponds to A1-A2 level according to The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Student can understand sentences and words relating to his person and surroundings. He is able to keep a simple and easy conversation and to respond to simple questions. He can express basic ideas about himself using learned phrases, he can form a simple sentence structures and use the basic phraseology.

Assessment methods:
Requirements: the subject is concluded by an examination consisting of a written test (duration 60 minutes, content lexis, grammar, translation) which makes 60% out of the total grade and an oral presentation on a given topic followed by a discussion with the examiner which makes another 40% of the total grade.
Course requirements:
- Compulsory 80% active attendance
- Final examination; minimum score at both parts of the exam is 60%.
Successful completion of the course includes knowledge of grammar: textbook Manual de Español actual and knowledge of terminology of studied topics
