Aim of the course and learning outcomes:
The aim of the course is to improve and extend the knowledge of vocabulary, grammar and conversational skills on the upper-intermediate level. Writing skills are developed through exercises, tests and presentations. Special emphasis is put on understanding spoken word as well as texts of a corresponding difficulty. After the completion of the course, the participants should attain the level corresponding to B1 of the Common European Framework for Languages. Students will understand spoken word about current issues. They will understand texts containing descriptions of feelings and events. They will be able to communicate in everyday situations and will able to discuss familiar topics fluently. They will also be able to write formal letters.

Requirements: the subject is concluded by an examination consisting of a written test (duration 60 minutes, content lexis, grammar, translation).
Course requirements:
- Compulsory 80% active attendance
- Submission of a seminar paper during the semester
- Final examination; minimum score of the exam is 60%
Successful completion of the course includes knowledge of grammar: textbook Manual de Español actual and knowledge of terminology of studied topics
