Aim of the course and learning outcomes:
Students should obtain knowledge of woody species and their properties that are important for gardening and landscape architecture. Emphasis is put above all on growth, shape, ecological and production parameters and on resulting possibilities of use. They should be also able to evaluate the present situation and developmental tendencies of individual plants, groups and stands of woody species with regard to needs of gardening and landscape architecture.

Assessment methods:
Credit - subject to approval: 1) the ability of determination of selected taxons of woody plant species (Part 2 of decidious woody plant species) using living specimens (their parts), preparations and pictures; 2) knowledge of important properties of selected taxons (Part 1 and 2 of decidious woody plant species and evergreen woody plant species), prooved by test; 3) basic orientation in lectured materials, prooved by test.
