Aims of the course:
Overview of system the higher plants including their importance in ecosystems. Knowledge or ability to recognize of 320 species of important species of herbs, woody plants and lianas, with focus on species with indicative value.
Get an overview of the basic system of higher plants, importance of individual groups in ecosystems. Practical knowledge of ca 320 kinds of major European and tropical herbs, trees and vines.

Assessment methods:
The course ends with a written test, for credit should consult a seminar paper. The exam consists of four groups of questions - 1/ Phytogeographical area with respect to the occurrence of families, 2/ Family of dicotyledonous plants, 3/ Family of monocots or gymnosperms or seedless plants, 4/ botanical terms.
