Course syllabus RRVARO - Selected Aspects of Community Development (FRDIS - SS 2014/2015)

|Students will get acquainted with the selected issues associated with municipal development at the territory of the Czech Republic -- the issues will be discussed in the international context - from perspective of the other selected EU-member countries.|

|Final evaluation is based on the two parts: (1) RESULTS OF TWO SEMINARS PAPERS, (2) RESULTS OF THE WRITTEN EXAMS|
(1) RESULTS OF TWO SEMINAR PAPERS: (a) critical analysis of information for the given issue and for the concrete municipality, (b) presentation of the most important knowledge in the form suitable both for experts and local citizens (for example for public meetings to the different development problems with local citizens). Maximum of points for each seminar paper is 10 points. The students have to receive minimum 10 points from two seminars papers in total (50 % ). At the same time the students have to get minimum 2 points from each seminar paper. If students meet these two conditions they will be allowed to participate at the written exams.
(2) RESULTS OF THE WRITTEN EXAMS. Maximum number of points from written exams is 80. To be successful, it is necessary to obtain minimum 60 %, it means 48 points. The final evaluation is based on summation of points from two seminars papers and from written exams. The intervals of the results are then the following:
A 90, 1-100 points
B 82,1-90 points
C 74,1-82 points
D 66,1-74 points
E 58,0-66 points
|Course methods:||The lectures pay attention to the selected issues associated with municipal development on the territory of the Czech Republic. The issues are discussed in the international context -- from perspective of the other selected EU-member countries.
The seminars are focused on the development of the skills and competences, which are important for future active participation on discussions about future modes of development on the municipal level. The attention will be paid especially to (a) ability to prepare the critical analysis of information for the given issue and for the concrete municipality - include search, selection and interpretation of information (b) ability to present the most important knowledge in the form suitable both for experts and local citizens (for example for public meetings to the different development problems with local citizens).
The role of teachers - there are 2lecturers (T. Krejčí and P. Klusáček) and 2 leaders of seminars (T. Krejčí and P. Klusáček). Share of teachers responsibilities is divided in the following way 50% and 50 %.
