Aims of the course:
Develop and enhance the legal awareness of students, get knowledge of the structure of law in the Czech Republic incl. the fundamental principles of functioning, attain framework knowledge of applicable provisions of law on environmental protection and individual components of environment.
Course contents:
1.Introduction to environmental law (allowance 4/0)
a.Legal standards, system of law, sources of law, law publishing.
b.The state administrative authorities, bodies exercising delegated powers, authorities executing bestowed powers.
c.Administrative procedures and variants.
d.European law

2.Domestic environmental law, general and environmental component rules. (allowance 8/0)
a.Principles of Environmental law
b.Environmental impact assessment
c.Providing environmental information
d.Integrated pollution prevention
e.Protection of agricultural land resources
f.Forest protection
g.Air protection
h.Water conservation, water management
i.Nature conservation and landscape protection
j.Mineral extraction, disposal of waste.

3.European environmental law, environmental protection in primary and secondary law. (allowance 2/0)
4.International conventions for the protection of the environment. (allowance 2/0)
Learning outcomes and competences:
Generic competences:

Specific competences:
-Ability to interact with public authorities in matters relating to environmental issues.
-Basic knowledge of legal tools of environmental protection in the context of international and EU law in addition to their application.
-Knowledge of environmental legislative and further instruments of sustainable development in EU
-Orientation in the public administration organization in the area of environmental protection.
-Understanding of the implementation of environmental protection requirements related to investing and operating activity and liability relations.
