Aim of the course and learning outcomes:
Geobiocenology is ecologicaly oriented typological system of terrestrial eosystems. With help of categories :Trophic Ranges, Hydric Ranges and Vegetation Belts GEOBIOCENOLOGY enable to sort natural ecosystems according to main ecological conditions and mapped potential of non-natural ecosystems potential vegetation types. Basic units are "Groups of geobiocene Types" This units in Czech republic conditions will be discussed in lessons. Geobiocenology is sbse for Landscape (urbanistic) planning (Terrestrial systems of ecological Stavbility-"ÚSES") in the Czech Republic and base for forest management planning in Slovakia ("Forest Site Types").use of Geobiocenology in other contries. Compare Geobiocenology with other typological systems.

Assessment methods:
Seminary work (3 topics - indication of the permanent abiotic conditions and plant community characteristics - 3 x 3-5 pages)
Geobiocoenological sample (releve) (1 forest plot)
Exam (written and oral part of exam - 40/20 min.(exam topics: theory of geobiocoene type, groups of forest types, group of geobiocoene types; Typization of abiotic environment of plant, ekological behavior of plant, physiological-ekological plant types; Data Sorting, classification, ordination of plant communities (ecosystems); Vegetation zonality (zones (geographical, climatical, vegetational); Altitudinal zonality (geographical, vegetational tiers (zones, belts), variants of vegetation zonality; Geobiocoenological regionalisation (diferentiation of vegetation, vegetation variants, bioregion, biochora); Forest typology; Suprastructural units of systems (tiers, trophic and hydric ranges, edaphic categories).
