Aim of the course and learning outcomes:
The students deepen knowledge about microeconomic and macroeconomic theoretical approaches to the advanced level. The student will be able to use and develop the present-day analytical methods and apprehend the complexity of economic theory including the contemporary alternatives.
Course content:
Theory of consumer behaviour: preferences, approaches to utility, budget line, optimisation, initial endowment, allocation of time, uncertainty decision, institutional and post-keynesian views of consumer behaviour (allowance 0/0)
Demand theory: individual and market demand, partial market equilibrium, various type of consumer demand, changes in demand (allowance 0/0)
Production: factors of production theory, production function, costs, revenues (allowance 0/0)
Firm behaviour and supply: firms behaviour under various market conditions, alternative concept of firm behaviour (managerial, behavioural, institutional, post-keynesian) (allowance 0/0)
Market equilibrium and price: effectiveness of markets in views of different approaches to economy (allowance 0/0)
Market of factors of production: impact of perfect and non-prefect competition on labour market, capital market, alternative approaches to labour market behaviour (allowance 0/0)
General equilibrium approach: effectiveness in consumption, effectiveness in production, general equilibrium, impacts of market failures (allowance 0/0)
Market failures and microeconomic policy: externalities, asymmetric information, public goods (allowance 0/0)
Present-day development in macroeconomics: new neo-classical macroeconomics, new Keynesian macroeconomics, post-Keynesian economics, etc. (allowance 0/0)
