Course title: Botany

Course objective:
Acquirement of basic knowledge of system of Algae, Plants and Fungi inclusive of understanding of their role in ecosystems. Practical knowledge of 300 species of forest, meadow, ruderal and segetal plants, especially species indicators.
 
Course content:
1.Phylogenetic system of lower and higher plants and fungi. (allowance 2/2)
 
a.1. Bacteria and their ecologic importance.
b.2. Cyanobacteria and algae, its distribution and importance.
c.3. Bryophytes and ferns focused on the important species.
d.4. Gymnosperms and angiosperms. Character set of most important families.
e.5. Fungi including lichens, its ecology and importance in natur.
f.6. Ferns and flowering plants with indicative value.

Course completion:
The course ends with a written and oral tests for credit should consult a seminar paper.
To pass the credit must be met: One 50-minute written test (at least 50% knowledge, that is 50 points out of 100) in which the student responds in writing to the 2 questions (one from the systematic botany and one of the ecological plant groups). The test also includes oral part (2-10 questions required at least 50% correct answers). The final mark is the result of an average of 3 stamps (2 of written questions, one of the oral). Participation in the test is compulsory.
