Aims of the course:
To make the students acquainted with basic problems, concepts and methods of politology and with an analysis of political processes and of political system.
Course contents:
1.Politology as science of politics: resources, principles, subject,methods, functions, institutions, organizations (allowance 2/1)
2.Polity, politics, policy and principal categories of politology: needs,interests, relations, power, authority, power distribution (allowance 4/2)
3.Politics in traditional and modern society (family, civilsociety, the state), changes in postmodern discourse (allowance 2/1)
4.Political action and political system &emdash; two complementary concepts; subjectsof politology and consequences of their conceptions (allowance 4/2)
5.Declaring and associating of political interests: Weltanschauung, ideology, programme; power and resistance, legitimization and legitimity, legalization and legality (allowance 2/1)
6.Political system, its subsystemms and functions; the state,association, initiative, movement, lobby (allowance 2/1)
7.The state and political parties; civil society and associations, historical changes (allowance 2/1)
8.Communication in politics: public opinion, negotiation, influencing, manipulation (allowance 2/1)
9.Political system of the Czech Republic, political leadersin the Czech Republic; possibilities of comparative politology (allowance 2/1)
10.Globalization and politics: changes in position and functionsof the state and of civil society (allowance 2/1)
11.Political system/political action and non-political organization(business and others): external environment as a politicalframework and inner politics (allowance 2/1)
12.Politics and economics; public relations as a part of politics and response (allowance 2/1)
Learning outcomes and competences:
Generic competences:

-Ability to actively utilize knowledge gained in the field of psychology and dealing with people

-Adopting reasonably assertive forms and ways of behaviour
-Realizing complexity of working with people and leading them
