Aims of the course:
The course enables to students the orientation in the current development of the IS/IT
and in the current development of the modern network technologies
 
Course contents:
1.Advanced Network/Computing Systems Technologies (allowance 0/12)
 
a.IPv6: address notation, address structure, address types, EUI-64, static and dynamic configuration, NDP, IPv6 sockets, DNS, routing, tunneling. Implementation - OS Windows, Linux, Cisco IOS.
b.Server virtualization and data center: virtualization basics, data center components, SAN, networking, server and network redundancy and load balancing. Implementation - VMware vSphere.

2.Information security (allowance 14/2)
 
a.Principles and Basics of the Information Security (terminology, objectives of the information security, relationships and bindings).
b.Information Security in Enterprise Information Systems (Information Security Management System, ISMS design, building, performing, "Plan -- Do -- Check -- Act" cycle in ISMS, Information Security Policy, Risk Analysis and Risk Management in the enterprise IS).
c.Overview of the Information Security Standards and Recommendations (standards of the ISO 27K series, "Common Criteria" standards and other related laws and standards).
d.Overview of the Information Security Technologies (Network and computer security, Cryptography, Digital signatures, PKI, Penetration testing).

3.Bioinformatics (allowance 4/4)
 
a.Bioinformatics overview (history, objectives, methods.
b.DNA, RNA, amino acide sequencies.
c.Presenting basic algorithmic concepts.
d.Practicing query, retrieval and analysis of sequences and structure.

4.Advanced Web technologies (allowance 4/4)
 
a.HTML5 and PHP (new elements, new features).
b.CSS - responsive web design.
c.JavaScript -- new API.

5.Agile methods in SW development (allowance 4/4)
 
a.SW development in specific companies.
b.Priciple and implementation of "lean SOFTWARE development".
c.Agile Development Methods (advantages, disadvantages, practical demonstration).

-The student is able to describe a virtualized computing environment and design a network infrastructure upgrade
-The student is able to describe and propose a system of management of information risk (ISMS) in an enterprise IS
-The student is able to describe the principles and objectives of the field of Bioinformatics and to apply it in a practice
-The student is able to design and create a Web document by using the new HTML5 elements
-The student is able to use the agile SW development methodology in a practice
